In Acts 5:28-42, the high priest and the Sadducees confront the apostles for continuing to teach about Jesus despite orders to stop. Peter defends their actions, stating they must obey God rather than men. This enrages the leaders, who want to kill the apostles. However, a Pharisee named Gamaliel advises caution, citing previous failed rebellions, and suggests letting the apostles be. They are beaten and ordered not to speak in Jesus' name again. Despite this, the apostles rejoice for being counted worthy to suffer for Jesus and continue preaching daily in the temple and from house to house.
